Getting access
How do I get a BillBook account?
Message us on WhatsApp or email with your firm name and GSTIN if you have one. We create the account and send your login. Until 30 September 2026 this is free.
Is there a trial for ContractZen?
Yes — 30 days with your own data. No card to enter. At the end we ask whether you want to continue; nothing is charged automatically.
What happens after the free period?
Paid plans will be announced before the free period ends, with notice to every account. Your data is never deleted because a free period ended.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Both apps run in a browser. On a phone, add the app to your home screen from the browser menu and it opens like any other app.
Using the apps
Can more than one person in my firm use it?
Yes. BillBook has Owner, Manager, Billing Clerk and Read-only roles; ContractZen supports multiple users per firm with an audit trail of who changed what.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Invoices and registers export to PDF, Excel and CSV, and BillBook exports e-way bill JSON. You are not locked in.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone. Internet Explorer is not supported.
The site does not open on my office computer.
Some office networks block newly registered domains or cloud hosting by category. Open the connection check page from that PC and send us a screenshot — it tells us whether the block is on the network or the PC, and we will give your IT team the exact domains to allow.
Data and security
Where is my data stored?
In a managed PostgreSQL database hosted in Mumbai, India. Each firm's records are isolated at the database level, and ContractZen logins need a one-time code as well as a password.
Do you use AI on my data?
Only for features you choose to use, such as the AI quotation writer, and only the text you enter into that feature is sent for processing. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
Follow the steps on Delete your account. Some invoice records must be kept for the period Indian tax law requires; that page explains what is removed and what is retained.
